Data Deletion Policy

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Data Deletion Policy is to outline how the School of Skill Development (hereafter referred to as “the School”) collects, stores, and deletes user data in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring the protection of personal information and maintaining transparency with our users.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all users of the School’s services, including but not limited to students, instructors, and website/app visitors who provide personal data through any of our platforms, including websites, mobile applications, or third-party integrations.

3. Types of Data Collected

We may collect and store the following types of personal and non-personal data:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Profile photo
  • Address and location
  • Course enrollment details
  • Payment and transaction information
  • Exam results and certifications
  • Login and usage data

4. Data Retention

We retain user data only for as long as it is necessary to:

  • Provide services to the user
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements

Unless otherwise required by law, inactive user accounts and associated data will be retained for a period of 3 years from the date of last activity. After this period, data will be securely deleted.

5. User-Initiated Data Deletion

Users may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting us through the following methods:

Upon verification of the user’s identity, we will:

  • Delete the requested personal data from our databases within 15 business days
  • Notify the user once the deletion process is complete
  • Inform the user of any data that cannot be deleted due to legal obligations

6. Automatic Deletion

In cases where an account is inactive for over 3 years, the account and associated data will be marked for deletion. Users will receive a notification 30 days before permanent deletion.

7. Data Deletion Exceptions

We may retain certain information when necessary to:

  • Comply with financial, tax, or regulatory obligations
  • Enforce our terms and policies
  • Protect our legal rights

Such data will be anonymized where possible to reduce privacy risks.

8. Security of Deletion

All deletion actions are performed securely. Data is erased from all systems including backups, logs, and third-party services (where applicable), in accordance with industry-standard practices.

9. Changes to the Policy

We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated through our website or app, and the updated policy will be effective immediately upon posting.
